The New Ovation MC760 by Novatel

Another great USB product is making life easier. Introducing the new Ovation MC760, the smallest EVDO, Evolution Data Only/Evolution Data Optimized Rev. A USB modem. The Ovation MC760 weighs less than one ounce and its compact size is around three inches long. Novatels, NVTL, is well known for its convenient approach to the wireless broadband world.

This plug-n-play unit is much more powerful than its physique gives off. The Ovation MC760 is packed with features like onboard GPS (which can work with just about any GPS software), an integrated microSD slot (up to 8GB), and a dual band antenna system. You can also store video and audio with the use hot-swappable SD storage card (which must be purchased separately).

The main feature that will put the Ovation MC760 in a class by itself is the dual band antenna. You will be able to notice a significant difference in performance when you normally cannot maintain a clear signal in network areas.

If you have a Type A USB port you can begin using your Ovation MC760 immediately. Most desktops, laptops, and PDA’s will have the Type A USB port already. This system works with Windows Vista, XP, and 2000. It will also work with Mac or Linux machines as well. Once the Ovation MC760 is hooked up you can start connecting at a faster rate compared to cable or DSL modems. Your connection speed will also depend on the cellular network signal as well.

Novatels Ovation MC760 has an LED light, which signifies connection status of the modem. Mobilink? Lite Connection Manager Software is also included in order to make the user experience friendly and simple.

The Ovation MC760 is due to be released this year according to Novatel. They hope to get it out on the market during the first quarter. Pricing has not yet been finalized and the budget for the Ovation MC760 has not been set.
