Samsung CLX 2160 N – Makes for A Superior Printer

The CLX-2160N is one best and most recent offerings from Samsung. It’s a multifunction unit which means it can do more things than just print. In addition to being able to print in full color, it also scans and copies in color. It packs a lot of power into such a small footprint. The Samsung CLX 2160N printer has qualities such as a color laser printer, a scanner, and a copier. It is definitely not a cheap kind of printer, however you don’t need to take out a loan to buy one. Note that the N in the product title of Samsung CLX 2160N means that this is a network-ready product. It can be used by all computers on that same network simply by plugging it directly into a router (a network switch like device).

The printer is an inexpensive entry into the color scanner/printer/copier market but don’t forget about the toner – the consumables. Toner is the powdery substance that comes inside something called a cartridge. In the copying/printing process, an electrostatic charge is placed across the paper and super hot electric filament melts the toner in very price locations. Put all those locations together and you’ve got text or a picture or whatever you’re printing/copying.

A laser printer is a printer that uses Samsung toner, in the case of a Samsung CLX 2160N color laser printer there are four toners, which consist of three different colors and black. The speed is up to 4 ppm in A4. The first print out time in the Mono is fourteen seconds, while the print out time in the color is twenty six seconds. The duplex is manual. The printer holds up to 150 sheets of paper.

The function of a scanner in Samsung CLX 2160N is you put a paper in the scanner and it turns it into an image which you can see on your computer. This scanner has a 1,200×500 dpi Resolution. It scans to USB/Folder/Application/Network.

There are two types of speeds in the copy, the Mono and the Color. In the Mono the speed is up to 16ppm in A4, and the color is up to 4ppm in A4. First copy out time in mono is 18 seconds while the first copy out time in color is 45 seconds.

Unlike most other Samsungs the CLX-2160N does not have a faxing function. This is due to the fact that in order for this Samsung laser printer to be one of the world’s smallest printers, it needs to save a lot of space.

The average price for that of a Samsung CLX-2160N is about $420 USD but you can get it for less than half of that if you shop the web for competitive pricing. This cost may be pricey but how do you compare a one of a kind printer to anything else? Besides that, it’s a Samsung. Samsung is a quality name. Samsung makes printers that cost a lot more too.
