Examining The Causes Of Registry Corruption

As any computer owner knows, there are many potential threats that must be guarded against in order to keep any PC in operating condition. Some of these threats include spyware, viruses, hardware failures and improperly working software programs. Another problem that often and mistakenly overlooked is registry corruption.

A registry will start to build corruption whenever any piece of software is either removed or upgraded. Removing hardware in a roundabout way can also cause registry corruption because when hardware is removed its corresponding device driver will be removed and device drivers are software programs.

Avoiding Registry Corruption

It is very unlikely anyone would be able to use a computer for very long these days without corrupting the registry. Though it was actually viable to keep a registry largely corruption free a few years ago, it no longer is. So, the best way to deal with it today is realize the registry will build up some corruption from time to time and we must be prepared to clean out this corruption before it has time to ruin our computer’s operating systems.

While we could conceivably use a computer for many years without choosing to delete any software or change any hardware in our PC’s, there is one major complication. Spyware, viruses, adware and all this kind of stuff are all software programs.

We have no choice but to delete spyware and other similar types of programs from our hard drives because these things can do untold harm to our operating systems and our financial well-being seeing as spyware does truly spy on us.

Registry corruption used to be a lot easier to work around when we used older operating systems because they simply were composed of much fewer files. If corruption were a problem, adding more RAM would usually take care of the matter.

More Files, More Corruption

On the other hand, today’s very large operating systems, namely Windows XP and Vista are equipped with very complex registries and therefore, corruption is harder than ever for the OS to deal with. This is what causes the slow downs and crashes.

So, registry cleaners are needed to keep the operating system free of the extra workload registry corruption saddles it with. Aside from causing the operating system to complete each command in a slogged down fashion, a heavy dose of registry corruption can actually cause a major operating system failure. So, cleaning the registry with a good registry cleaner often is not such an arduous task in retrospective.

What all this means is every PC owner needs to run a registry cleaner as part of his computer maintenance routine these days. It really is a bad deal when you consider nobody has asked for anyone to bombard his or her computer with the malicious software known as spyware. Still to ignore registry corruption as a way of seeking justice can result in a destroyed OS and a hard drive reformat!
