Male Nude and Art

The old standard male nude form in art is having a bit of a comeback these days,it really is. Due to massive media portarails of the male form i.e. Beckham “designer manpanty” ads.There is spill over into the realm of art.

These days it’s fashion ads of male underwear that get the back burner subconcious going on the interest to have depictions of the male nude form in art. mainstream gay culture is so over the top with it that the spill over into the straight mainstream makes a political polarity mix I cannot to this day explain.

It was standard form for centuries, the church being the biggest client of the medium,depictions from David to John the Baptist.All big ticket items of the day back in the early days of the nude male in art.

It’s just that social norms and rules left over from the days of church and state, leave a certain hesitation to have depictions of the male nude form in art shows. it’s basically a genital thing ,the public is hopefully getting over.
