Stay At Home Mom Management

Managing a household is not an easy task to tackle. The thought of having to go through a lot of chores while minding the kids brings to mind one word: pressure. Yet, a lot of stay-at-home moms have pulled it off successfully. What exactly is the secret behind how these moms avoid succumbing to the pressure and pulling everything off nicely?

First, you have to learn how to prioritize. Because you will never run out of tasks everyday, you should learn how to streamline your working process. For example, you can assign a specific day for a specific task. For example, you can schedule doing the laundry on a Sunday because the people in your household expect to use their clothes on the following day and the days after that. Some tasks can be understandably boring, like folding and organizing clothes and even washing the dishes. You can never do away with these tasks though as they contribute to the smooth flow of things in your household. Imagine what your family would do if there are no dishes to use for dinner and there is a mountain of them waiting to be washed. One recommended trick is to use whatever idle or boring time during the day to do these routine tasks. It helps to keep you awake at that time, and it will also allow you to accomplish these important tasks.

However, in order to streamline your tasks, you need to know what tasks you have to prioritize. This ensures that the most important tasks are placed at the top spot in the queue so they can be addressed immediately. For example, washing the laundry is ideal for doing on Saturdays so that they will be dry by Saturday evening. You can then organize the clothing by that time, leaving you with quality time with your family on Sundays. To find out what tasks needs to be assigned priorities each, come up with a list of tasks that you need to do the whole week. From this task list, pick out the ones that are most urgent and assign them the first spot in your task queue. Continue doing this until you come up with a flexible work schedule.

Planning itself is a task that you need to do every week. There might be new tasks that come up, and you need to reevaluate your work schedule and find out where you can put this new task into the weekly queue. Planning is better done during Sundays, where you have nothing to do but spend time with your whole family. Devote a little of your time on a Sunday to look at your task list, and revise them if you may. When planning, it is also important to take into consideration any upcoming events during the week. If you have to take your kids to a soccer game on Wednesday, how would you manage the change in schedule to accommodate all those tasks remaining without disrupting your workflow?

Meeting with friends:
Many stay at home moms find weekdays the best days to meet up with friends. You could schedule the mornings to complete the chores and the evening to catch up with your friends. In this manner, by splitting the time optimally, a stay at home mom can manage to accomplish chores and have a good time too!
