When starting a home business, you realise that there is going to be a huge amount of commitment needed. This involves sacrificing your spare time, money and loved ones time.

Start to become a list builder. Pardon? I hear you say? Create a list of people interested in a certain topic. This involves capturing those peoples details such as name and email address, offering them soemthing of genuine value which will enhance their lives, for free and send them an email about new products once per month or so.

Why not just start your business anyway and ignore this advice? You could, but you’d have to do all the setting up each time a business fails, advertise again and again, hunt for new customers, and generally waste days and days doing the same things over and over. When you’ve got a list your customers are already waiting to hear from you. Advertising costs are gone forever. Money is literally available “on-tap” whenever you need it.

So if you can imagine that 2 years down the line you manage to generate 5000 people on a list, which can be done easily when you know how. The value equates to around $1 per subscriber. Send out asimple email, and a percentage of people will buy from you, and you will normally earn around $5000 from that one email.

You can email as many times as 4 times a month if it suits you and earn as much as $20,000 a month. This is the potential. Some people have lists with more than 300,000 subscribers. I’ll leave you to work out the math on that!

Choose to build a list first, and then use that list to build any business of your choice. Work at home businesses come and go, but your list does not.
