Bling-Marketers, Home-Based Internet Marketing Business and You

Looking for a home-based Internet marketing business? If so, by now you have probably come across more than a few promoting their business opportunities using an approach I call Bling-Marketing.

You’ll find Bling-Marketers leaning against their Aston Martins and Corvettes with arms folded tightly and arrogant expressions on their faces. You’ll also see them on YouTube proudly displaying their bank accounts with lengthy columns of huge deposits. Without a doubt it is working for them–in fact that is not surprising. In fact, now days it would be more astonishing to encounter someone that wasn’t aware of how lucrative home-based Internet Marketing businesses are . . . especially now because of the recession.

Although there seems to be an endless variety to pick from (some that make more sense than others), few seeking a business opportunity to work with understand that deciding upon the “right” business is only half the “battle”. Their success or failure in business on the Internet will likely hinge upon one critical decision: Who they choose as a Mentor (or “sponsor or enroller”).

Researching your business options is an obvious step–though few people truly spend enough time doing this, but an important step that most people miss altogether is taking the time investigate their potential business enroller (sometimes called a sponsor or “mentor”), the person that they will be depending upon for support, guidance and training in their new venture.

Which brings us back to our article headline: Why you should never do business with Bling-Marketers.

1) Of course Bling-Marketering works–if it didn’t they wouldn’t use these tactics! But besides the fact that it just plain tacky, it is Bling-Marketers that are giving the Online Business Opportunity market a bad name. This is causes much aggravation to those in the industry that make every effort to do business legitimately.

2) The inclusion of disclaimers on there sales pages may possible be a thin legal protection from the U. S. Federal Trade Commission, but this approach clearly violates the spirit of Truth in Advertising regulations and is causing the FTC to step in again to create more draconian restrictions on marketers.

3) New to the market and lacking a complete understanding of how the process works, those that sign up under the Bling-Marketer don’t realize that this marketing tactic isn’t something they can duplicate. They have no flashy Porche or bank account bulging with columns of big deposits . . . so now what do they do? It must be a painful wake-up call when it finally becomes clear to them that they’re now going to have to compete with their enroller/”mentor” who does!

The home-based Internet marketing business industry requires proper training to experience success, and if these “new arrivals” to the market ever hope to succeed, they won’t be able to do it “playing on the same field” as their sponsor–after all, how can they? They don’t have rows of bank deposits to flash or a Lamborghini to lean against. Imagine how painful the realization must be when it becomes clear to them that now they must complete against their own sponsor who does! OUCH! They can be successful . . . if they are taught how to market correctly, but it is likely they won’t be getting this training from the mentor as his marketing style is clear evidence that he really doesn’t care about whether or not those he got involved are successful or not.

Left alone to sink or swim, these new “recruits” usually end up sinking. Naturally it is common for them to feel as if they were scammed–which is regrettable, because if they simply had made a different choice in sponsors, they could have had a much different result in their business. In the end, they truly deserved much more then the empty promises the Bling-Marketer gave them.

The home-based Internet marketing business industry is booming and is a fantastic opportunity to create true wealth for those that are prepared to roll of their sleeves and get to work learning this exciting business. However, remember to take the time to research your new mentor as much as you do the business opportunity you are joining.
