If you are looking for a convenient way to purchase items in stores or online without the worries of carrying cash or credit cards, a prepaid card may be your answer. They are available from MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.

How It Will Work

Using this card is similar to using a gift card. Before you begin, you make a deposit of cash. You decide how much money to deposit. As you make purchases, ATM withdrawals, or pay bills, the balance declines.

You can deposit more money at anytime. And you will not have monthly bills because you pay as you go.

Who can Benefit

These are good for anyone who doesn?t want the responsibility of keeping track of monthly bills. Parents can give their children this instead of cash. Other than being an easy way for children to make purchases on their own, they also help parents educate children about smart money management. They guarantee approval, so consumers with bad credit can use them with no problems. And travelers might want to use them instead of carrying large amounts of cash.

The Advantages

The financial institution that issues your card will replace it if it is stolen. You are also protected against unauthorized use.

You will control how much money is on available. Thus, you will always know if you have enough money to make a purchase.

This can be a very effective way to limit spending and develop financial discipline. If you decide you would rather make a cash purchase, you can obtain cash from an ATM.

It can also be used for bill payments at any establishment that accepts online or phone transactions.

Fees

Visa, MasterCard and American Express offer several plans with varying fees. Make sure you read and understand the agreement before you select one.

There is usually a monthly transaction fee, and other fees are charged according to the structure of the plan. A plan may include fees for activation, ATM withdrawals, and individual purchase fees. Each fee is deducted from your card?s current balance.

In sum take the time to educate yourself and read the fine print before applying for any card.

Credit repair has become an industry to itself over the last 5 or so years. With promises better credit and improved interest rates many so called credit repair companies charge a hefty fee and deliver very little in return. In fact, most costumers are often disillusioned when a credit repairer promises to improve and manage their credit but ultimately they often add to current debts and do nothing.

Before seeking the advice or services of a credit repair agency you should know the following:

If a company makes any claim to have the ability to erase or change your credit rating, run the other way. In truth there are no companies or agencies that have the authority to remove any valid information from your credit history, making their claims of providing a better score quickly very near to impossible.

The North American Consumer Credit Reporting Act stipulates that all information on your credit report/history remains valid for 7 years. During that time no one has the ability to remove or change it. Credit repair companies simply take your money and deliver no results as they legally cannot. Note if there is incorrect information on your report than you have the right to dispute it.

It is illegal for credit repair companies to charge a costumer before they can provide results. This includes down payment or payment of any kind. Before payment may be requested there has to be proof that the clients credit was better as a result of actions taken by the repair company.

Another fact is that is illegal for any credit repair agency Its advertise a claim that says that they can improve your credit score. They most first look at your credit history before making such a claim.

Keep in mind that fixing a poor credit score is a matter of time and making your payments on time. Dont be suckered into false ads and promises, youll just waste your money. Order your credit report, make sure everything is up to date and accurate, then pay your bills and all is well.

These are definitely some hard times economically we are contending with these days. Numerous Americans now are searching for solutions to their debt problems. Your particular finances may not warrant going to debt lawyers yet, but you may need some advice from some debt negotiators. If you are contemplating bankruptcy, I advise you to search out some relief for your debt problem first, by talking to a consumer credit counselor, that has experience in seeing if there are other ways to deal with your debt besides bankruptcy.

A consumer credit counseling type service that has years of experience can be a blessing to find when a person is in a quandary over their finances. Consolidating debt does more than just save you some hundred to thousands in cash, but can prevent your credit from becoming negatively impacted over the long term.

It does not matter if it is negotiating business debt, consumer debt, or credit card debt, a credit counselor, that is experienced in such matters knows better how to navigate through the system today. They can assist you in saving you some cash, and to get your payments down to a more affordable level that you can handle better.

Another reason to search out a credit counselor is that their way of solving your debt will also give you plenty of credit relief. This means that the obnoxious creditors will stop harassing you, and allow you to work on solving your debt through a consolidation plan.

You have to comprehend one thing here, and that is that no matter what type of credit you are trying to consolidate your accounts will be closed. Your credit rating may take a bad hit too during this. But in the long run you will benefit from consolidating, and the sooner you get all your debts paid off, the sooner your rating credit wise will heal.

The important thing is to be brutally honest with yourself when assessing your financial situation. For many Americans credit card debt has reached an all-time high. Credit card debt solutions can not only lower the high interest rates you are currently paying on credit cards, but can also greatly reduce the time in which it will take you to pay them off in full and be debt free.

This is the big advantage of finding the right solution to your debt problem, and the relief you can receive credit wise, finding the right credit counselor to work for. You have to stop the circle of making more debt as you are trying to pay off the existing debt you have. Disciplining yourself and using debt consolidation are the main two ways of being able to handle your finances again. The quicker this is accomplished, the speed at which your credit rating will start going up will increase.

Also through these services for consumer credit counseling you can educate yourself on better money management skills, to keep your debt to a minimum in the future. The experts will often explain the methods they use for negotiating through a debt problem too. They have the inside track and often share their knowledge with the clients they serve.

So if you are trying to solve your debt problems, I recommend that you find the debt consolidation program, that will work for you through one of the many credit counseling services out there. You of course would check into their reputation to make sure they are a good place to do business with. You do not want to have any problems working with one of these companies, they should be on the up and up with you.

Is boosting your credit score sort of a mystery? Are you interested in learning how to boost your credit score yourself? If you have answered yes to either of the above questions then you need to keep reading.

I’m not going to sit here and tell you that it’s going to be easy. At humans we get into a certain pattern and that’s it. According to statistics most human beings do not like change. In order to boost your credit score you are going to have to create a new pattern for yourself. You can start changing your pattern by eliminating your credit cards. You shouldn’t have any more than three credit cards. Too many open lines of credit can and will negatively effect your credit score.

This next strategy is somewhat obvious, but it needs to be said. It is crucial that you pay your bills on time and on a consistent basis. This will prevent new negative information from being added to your credit report. If you feel that for whatever reason you are not going to be able to make your payment on time, you should contact your creditor and notify them of your situation. Chances are they will be understanding.

Your next goal is to reduce the balances on your current credit lines to under 35 percent. Anything over and above 35% will reduce your credit score.

There are many other things that you can do to boost your credit score. Obviously I will not be able to cover every strategy in this article. After all there are volumes of books dedicated to this information.

It is crucial that you learn to monitor and repair your credit yourself. This is your financial future that we are referring too. Become the master of your own destiny and start repairing your credit today. It’s a lot easier then some will make you think.

Of course, the company financing you would not want to take a risk without checking that you can make the payments first so you may be expected to make some payments first before receiving your new PC.

Alternatively you could try saving a little bit of money for a few months and make a down payment on the computer which would be looked at favorably by any finance companies and would enable you to receive your computer much more quickly.

With the help of this finance option, borrowers can avail or order a custom built PC with latest features. It can therefore be stated that guaranteed computer financing allows the borrower to take home the computer they so desperately want.
Unfortunately these days having a credit checking system is as important as having car insurance. Luckily there are some agencies that will give you a free credit score instantly. There are many reasons why you would want a free credit score. Maybe you are looking into renting an apartment or buying a house. Maybe you need an auto loan. Or maybe you just want to keep an eye on your credit to make sure your identity is still safe. Whatever the reasons may be here is a quick guide on interpreting credit report scores.

With a free credit report you will be able to see all 3 credit scores from the top 3 major credit bureaus. The top 3 major credit bureaus are Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union. What you are looking for are your overall FICO score as well as any blemishes on your record to determine if you identity has been stolen.

In order to determine what your FICO score means you can think of it like a report card for adults. An “A” will get you lower interest rates on credit cards, loans, and other financing. A “D” or an “F” means you may be denied for even the smallest things, such as a phone line. That is why it is so important to find out what you score.

So to make it simpler I will use FICO scores in terms of grades. The FICO score maximum is 850, although that is pretty tough to get. If your credit score is at 760 or above your grade would be an “A”. Anything that is above a credit score 700 would be considered a “B”. A credit score 600 or above would be considered a “C” and anything that is below a 600 would be considered a “D” or an “F”.

So how do you improve your credit rating? There are a few things you will want to keep in mind. First of all every time someone looks into your credit it adversely affects your credit score. Do your research and find out which companies you want to apply for credit with before sending out too many applications. You will also want to keep in mind that the more credit you have, the lower your score will be.

Some people get a credit card because of the 0% APR for a certain period of time, then as soon as that period expires they move on to another credit card offer and cancel the first credit card. This is a mistake as creditors are looking for long history with companies.

The New Millennium Secured Visa is specifically designed for those people who are looking for a card to help repair their credit history.

Have you used something as collateral?

This means that if you want to purchase something but don?t have the full amount of money, you can set aside an item you own as collateral in the event you default on your payments.

This is the case when you purchase a home. The home is held as collateral against the amount of money you borrowed. If you default on the loan, the bank gets the house.

This card will work the same way. They require collateral against future purchases made on the card.

This is done by opening a savings account which will earn 6% interest for the first three months, then 2% interest thereafter. The savings account is insured by the FDIC up to $100,000.

Your card works just like an unsecured one does. You can make purchases and get cash advances. Your limit is based on the balance of your new savings account. This must be between $300 and $5,000.

You should be aware that this account is secured and is not meant to be used for withdrawal of funds. It is collateral for your card!

New Millennium Bank will report your transaction history to the three bureaus; TransUnion, Experian and Equifax. By paying your statements on time and not going over your limit, you will build positive marks on your report.

Both Visa and MasterCard are issued. You can apply for one or both. You can also obtain a duplicate for your spouse.

There will be some fees: 19.5% FIXED interest rate for purchases and cash advances, $59 annual membership fee, $69.95 applicant processing fee, $20 late payment fee and $20 over limit fee. Additionally there is no grace period in which to repay either your purchases or your cash advances before a finance charge will be imposed.

This can be a good with which to try to reestablish your score. If you are willing to pay the high interest rate of 19.5% for purchases and cash advances. As time goes by, you can always request credit increases with the requisite deposit.

If you have made mistakes you can still receive approval. There is no credit check and they will only verify your address, social security number and age.

The mere fact that you are reading this tells me that you have come to the realization that you need to repair your credit score. The sad truth is most individuals do not think about their credit until it’s too late. Nevertheless I commend you for taking the first step to changing your life. Below I have provided you with 3 tips that are guaranteed to help you with your credit score repair.

Highlight All Dings – Eight out of ten credit reports that I have been shown by my students are cluttered with incorrect information. No matter what the error is you should dispute it. After all you have nothing to loose and everything to gain.

On Time Payments – This is hands down the number one cause of bad credit scores. It is a necessity that you pay your bills on time. If you foresee that you are not going to be able to make a payment on time you should immediately contact your creditor to let them know.

No High Balances – You should NEVER max out your credit cards. Now I understand that – that’s easier said than done. I recommended that you either pay off credit card balances or try to keep a low balance.

The first thing that my students ask me is where do they get started. Well, it’s a simple question that deserves a simple answer. The most important step is to take action. That’s right don’t procrastinate – get started repairing your credit right now. The truth is the entire process is pretty simple. You will need four things to achieve positive results. The first is knowledge. The second is organizational skills. The third is patience, and the fourth is time.

The important thing to remember is you didn’t mess up your credit score overnight and chances are you are not going to repair it overnight. Stick to the plan and follow the three basic tips above you will find yourself in a lot better shape than you are in now.

Sometimes bankruptcy may seem like the only option available to you, but before you take the plunge you need to make sure that you’re making the best decision possible for you and your family. Have you exhausted all possibilities such as getting a part time job or trying to work something out with your credit card companies?

Even a balance transfer can provide a little bit of relief because it can give you a low interest rate. However, this kind of strategy is tricky.

Many times the lower interest rate is only temporary, and this entire strategy will do you absolutely no good if you continue to spend your money indiscriminately. Your debt will simply continue to grow.

After making sure you’ve exhausted all of your possibilities, bankruptcy may still seem like the best option in your circumstances.

On the other hand, you don’t want to make your move without thinking things through. You want to get some good advice from a professional and not come to a hasty conclusion. After all, following your impulses probably got you in this mess to begin with.

Always remember that you’ll need a lawyer to help you declare bankruptcy and to give you the best advice possible. There are simply too many details to work out, especially with the new bankruptcy law that went into effect in 2005. In addition, each state has its own variations regarding homestead exemptions and other issues.

For example, declaring bankruptcy in California may not be the same as declaring bankruptcy in Texas, especially when it comes to your homestead exemption. This is why legal advice is crucial instead of just relying on what a neighbor tells you about his past experience.

These kinds of details can make a huge difference in the outcome of your case, and this really underscores the importance of having a good lawyer by your side instead of trying to go through all of this by yourself.
