<p>Like any other advertising method, it does not mean that pay per click will give you easy money and quick profit. You may encounter problems when using pay per click marketing especially if it is not managed correctly. The results in getting more visitors for your site may be overwhelming but if these online users do not patronize your business, all efforts will be put to waste.</p>
<p>Understanding this marketing tool is therefore necessary for business owners who want to get to the ultimate goal of increasing profit through pay per click marketing.</p>
<p>So what is pay per click marketing and how different is this to other forms of advertising?</p>
<p>Pay per click can be done in two ways. Advertisers can post ads to websites and pay the website owner of the rate they have previously agreed every time an online user clicks the ad. <p>This means that if you bid for $1.50 per click and 100 online users clicked your ad in the paid listings, you will then be charged $150 dollars.</p>

<p>Being a successful pay per click marketer is a tough challenge. For every affiliate making thousands a day with PPC, there are probably fifty more who are probably losing money. It is really not that hard to launch a PPC campaign, but it is much tougher to create a successful one.</p>
<p>To succeed with pay per click, you need to take the time to do the proper research. There are many different aspects of a successful PPC campaign and you need to pay attention to each to succeed. Fail to do the appropriate preparation for one step, and your campaign will be a failure before it even begins.</p>
<p>Your first step should be to choose a product to advertise. Write down a list of ideas that you are interested in. This is important because if you aren&#8217;t interested in it, you won&#8217;t follow through with all the subsequent steps.</p>
<p>With your list in hand, you will now need to find a specific product to promote. There are several sites where you can find such products. I would suggest signing up for CJ.com and Clickbank.com as they are two of the largest and most reputable. They both have thousands of products spanning many areas so it is likely you will be able to find a good product to sell.</p>
<p>Next you will need to begin with some keyword research. There are some really good paid keyword research tools like KeywordSpy and Wordtracker, but I would first suggest starting off with a free one like the Google Adwords Keyword Research tool. Using this tool, you can type in keywords related to your niche, and it will return you a bigger list of related keywords. You will then want to filter down this list by just including the keywords that you think potential customers will be using to find a product like yours.</p>
<p>Now that you have your keywords and product, you will need to create a lander for it. A landing page gives you a chance to pre-sell your product to your customer. The alternative is to direct link to the product itself, but many pay-per-click engines like Google Adwords frown upon this practice. If you don&#8217;t have any technical skills, you can outsource the landing page creation to a professional web designer.</p>
<p>The next step is to create your pay per click campaign. The big 3 places to use are Google Adwords, MSN Adcenter, and Yahoo Search Marketing. All three have their pros and cons. I would suggest Google Adwords to begin with, since you will get the most traffic with them, but they are more stringent in terms of getting campaigns accepted.</p>
<p>An important part about setting up your PPC campaign is coming up with your ad copy. You will want to create at least two different ads and you want to make sure you use your keywords in the copy. If you do this, your keywords will get bolded in the ad, and studies have shown that this increases the click through rate. Make sure the ad copy tightly targets your product and gives visitors a reason to click on your ad.</p>
<p>You should now have a good idea of the process of creating a successful PPC campaign. There are definitely some more tips and tricks to be learned, but you at least now know the basics. Try starting a few PPC campaigns now and see if you can&#8217;t find your first profitable one.</p>

<p>Most PPC campaigns only have a certain amount of keywords that actually convert into sales. Weeding out any non-converting keywords is an important part of optimizing your campaigns and getting them profitable. So how do you figure out which keywords are converting for you? That is where Prosper202 comes in.</p>
<p>Prosper202 was developed by Wes Mahler of Tracking202, and is free tracking script that offers real-time tracking of your PPC campaigns. You can get the script from their website, and you will need to host it on your own web server. However, it is recommended that if you are planning on sending a large amount of clicks through the script that you make sure and install it on its own dedicated server.</p>
<p>Once you have installed the script on your server, you will want to add a campaign into the system. In the setup section you will see the list of steps necessary to track your campaign. The first thing to do is to enter in any of your PPC Accounts (Adwords, Yahoo, MSN) and then put in any CPA networks you have joined. (Convert2Media, AmpedMedia, etc).</p>
<p>The next step is to add in your Affiliate campaign. Here you will enter in the offer name, the affiliate url and payout. For the url, you will need to get this from the specific affiliate network&#8217;s offer page. Be sure to include the subid parameter which is usually specific to the CPA network you are using.</p>
<p>You will also have the options to rotate and cloak your links. If you only want to send traffic to one offer, you can ignore the rotate option, but this is useful for testing the conversion rates between multiple similar offers. Cloaking your links makes it so your Affiliate Manager will be unable to see where your traffic is coming from and I would suggest you use this to protect your traffic sources.</p>
<p>For PPC campaigns, you can normally direct link to an offer, or send the visitor to a landing page. If you use a landing page, then you will need to put it in as well. Once you have done that, you will get a piece of javascript to install onto your landing page. You will also have to change any links to your offer to the one the Prosper202 gives you as well. </p>
<p>Once this is all setup, you can get the links you need to use. These will be input into the PPC platform that you are using. Make sure to add in the extra keyword parameter if your PPC platform requires it. This will enable Prosper202 to track the keyword associated with a particular click.</p>
<p>To enable real-time tracking of your conversions, you can also get the global tracking pixel from Prosper202 and email it to your Affiliate Manager for placement. This pixel should get placed on the confirmation page of the offer you are promoting and will alert the tracking script whenever a lead or sale has been made. This is an optional step, but if you don&#8217;t do it, you will have to manually enter in the subids of the converting sales into Prosper202 yourself.</p>
<p>Once you have gotten everything setup, Prosper202 will do the rest. You can see your clicks and leads in real-time using the Spy View, and you can see all the individual stats for each campaign in the overview page. Now you can figure out exactly which keywords are leading to sales and which ones are not. By having this info at your fingertips, you can take out those non converting keywords and start making your PPC campaign profitable.</p>
