How do you get more traffic to your site? It’s not that complicated when you have knowledge of the valuable methods involved. Web traffic is essential for success. High web traffic means sales.

The following are techniques you can utilize to deliver more traffic and potentially great prospects to your website:

1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – SEO helps you to improve your websites ranking by increasing the organic or natural search results of your website for a particular keyword. If your website is ranked high in the related keyword search by the search engines, you will get tons of free internet traffic to your website.

2. Article Marketing – Writing and publishing quality articles may not only establish you as an expert but are also a way to create quality content for your site, and search engines love content. If you provide quality and interesting content, chances are, people will give your site a visit by clicking the link in the resource box at the end of your articles. And with good keywords in your articles, you could get the high ranking in search results.

3. Pay Per Click Advertising – Pay per click advertising is one of the easiest ways to drive traffic to your website. As always, the key to an effective Pay Per Click campaign, lies in properly targeting potential visitors. The returns are continuous and proportionate to the attention paid to the campaign flow.

4. Affiliate Marketing – Affiliate marketing can turn your valuable web site traffic into money. Affiliates widely promote your web site’s products and services via your affiliate program in return for commission based on the traffic or sales they make for you.

5. Site Exit Traffic – Offering your visitors with an alternative to your site at the point that they exit is a smart way to cycle traffic through a ring of your own web sites. This usually occurs with a pop-up window which displays a page on your site. This also helps you maximize your profits by allowing you to capture more leads or promote one more product before a potential customer leaves your website.

Link exchanges are a thing of the past. The only time when link exchanges work is when they provide useful information and products to your customers. LinkedIn is a networking platform for business users to discover inside connections. Users can build and enlarge new business contacts by means of their existing trusted contacts.

Users can preserve links to web pages on precise sites that they really want to remember. The sites then permits you to store, tag and share inks across the internet. Users discover these “Digg-worthy” articles without relying on sites like Digg or Reddit. Chances are that was in their feed reader by default. Users add tags to online items, such as images, videos, bookmarks, and text. These tags are then shared and at times refined. Looked at another way, folksonomy is “a naturally created classification system which arises as a result of user-based tagging.

Users simply access, share, categorize, and store their bookmarks online. You can join without cost. User contributes their own news stories as well as note the other publications stories, and all users .The Diggers add remarks to the stories and rate the comments of others and determine the importance of the stories on the site. Users can hunt by tags to find bookmarks significant to their interests.

Users can modify their profiles with individual information and content like blogs. From the site owners perspective you can expand important information about your user which will allow you to tailor the information you send our to the needs of each person.

User generated content, user input or involvement, user reviews, user reaction and interpretations, and oriented functionality of other visitor is not constrained to the Web 2.0 companies. Mainstream, “old-fashioned” internet behemoths have jumped on the bandwagon. Users can bookmark, tag or give comment on others bookmarks.

Social networking online may be done on social networking sites such as Facebook, but networking occurs also in newsgroups, current discussion boards, the blogosphere and other venues. There’s more to it than that, but for now we’ll keep it simple and uncomplicated. Online readership is very picky. They will vote for your blog entry or web page only if they like what they see and read.

A balanced combination of search engine optimization and professional website design are characteristics a well designed website. You need to appeal to search engine crawlers and the human visitor. If you are not appealing in the eyes of the average user, all design and SEO efforts are wasted.

Of course, a compromise between visual effects and text must be reached, because search engines don’t give marks for layout or pictures. And words alone will not grab people’s attention. Although designers hope that adding creative elements to their websites will be productive, such actions can actually inhibit the site’s promotion.

SEO consultants will tell you that Flash, incorrectly used, is a cardinal sin. It is plausible to combine Flash and HTML and come up with a search engine friendly website that still permits a rich media experience. When creating a website using Flash, come up with different versions for Flash and HTML, which is often referred to as a non-Flash version. This choice gives visitors to your site an ability to express their preferences. And the site stands a better chance of being indexed and ranked through HTML versions this way.

In the same fashion, it is possible to create a visually pleasing website by using website navigation schemes (such as JavaScript drop-down menus or Flash navigation menus). It is possible to create a visually pleasing website, however, some of the elements may make it difficult, or even impossible for search engines to properly negotiate the website with the limitations of search engine exposure.

Depending on several factors, dynamic websites and those based on a CMS can be either highly successful or a total disaster. Dynamic web pages often have long URL’s that seem to make no sense to the average viewer, due to the fact that they are data-base driven and created on the fly. These long URL’s, comprised of parameters based on the data query, are necessary both to sort products and create a central navigation for the site visitors. These parameters make it hard for a lot of search engines to crawl through your pages. To avoid this problem, discuss with your designer the possibility of using what Wordpress calls “Pretty URL’s”, a feature that is now offered in most Content Management Systems (but most likely by a slightly different name).

by Steve Blalock

Viral marketing is an integral part of a campaign strategy that is used to achieve objectives. It is not the objective itself. If the main objective of an e-mail campaign is branding, in order to achieve greater branding success exposure you craft your message or offer in a way that it encourages pass-along.

Producing a message with a quality offer or an incentive for pass-along is what viral marketing is all about.

Simply suggesting that e-mail recipients forward your message to their friends and relatives is not viral marketing. A message at the bottom of your e-mail that reads Feel free to forward this message to a friend is nowhere close to viral marketing at its best.

On the other hand, if something worthy of sharing, such as a valuable discount, additional entries into a sweepstakes, an added discount or premium service, a joke/cartoon, or a hilarious video, is included in the e-mail, viral marketing happens naturally and quite successfully.

The bottom line is that your message must be perceived as having value. Relevant or timely information, research, or studies are all good examples of content that might be viewed as potential pass-along material. Interactive content like a quiz or text can inspire forwarding, especially if it is fun. Personality tests, fitness quizzes, or compatibility questionnaires are all things that have been passed on by many people many times. Why? Because they are entertaining and entertainment has value.

A multimedia experience is always going to achieve some pass-along. Someone is always touting the benefits. It is a bit more of a time and money investment but the messages have a great appeal and rich media has the advantage of being new. The tech factor alone is often enough for the message to be perceived as valuable.

Traffic from Digg is known to crash websites so be sure you have adequate bandwidth to hold the flow in traffic. For the moment, your best confront or challenge is to make it to Diggs frontage page. Traffic facts are given in listing, which states very clearly how much is total traffic and how much from USA, India, UK and some countries.

Google tries hard to filter out those sites that are valueless by removing the spam links and assigning penalties for doubtful link building. Google Maps provides the same functionality as similar competing services but features a far superior interface. Flickr ’s interface is one of the most intuitive and beloved around. Google Docs might not be the best for the moment but it works and you can rely on it.

Google uses the information they collect in these tools to make determinations about websites. The facts they gather round may impact the ranking of your website in organic searches for important keyword phrases. Google’s and other search engine’s algorithms are better off handling information and data, but they still can’t beat the human mind in finding the usefulness and quality of a website. Google and the other major search engines always reward a website with good content with higher positions in their search results for one or more keywords.

Twitter has a good google ranking. That is just as high as it gets. Twitter is a niche social networking site that allow others to make out what you’re doing at the moment, and is rival by Google-backed competitor, Jaiku .

Del.icio.us is one of the bigger players who gets over 100,000 websites bookmarked per day! If I were a search engine, I would capture each of these votes as part of my algorithm? Del.icio.us, is owned by Yahoo. It is a social-bookmarking site and is undergoing a total makeover, from dropping the “dots” to implement a complete new code base. Delicious also has a roster of new features

Furl also allows you to export your documents– cached pages and all — to a ZIP file for uncomplicated backup, that the other services do not offer. [21] Furl is LookSmart s social bookmarking engine which seems to use a strange of mixture of ratings, taxonomy and folkosonomy. You bookmark a site by clicking a bookmarklet which launches a pop-up.

Sites that draw attention to or highlight the most talked about topics on the Web involve buzz.yahoo.com/, 50.lycos.com/, and google.com/press/zeitgeist.html. Sites shown are selected by user submissions and further featured based on ratings. This presents a amazing opportunity for marketers to get traffic to their sites.

Freebie seekers are, um, freebie seekers. They want everything for free. Free-Press-Release.com disclaims that any right and accountability for the information or data go to the customer who submit the press release. Some press release may be bewildering or confusing without additional clarification.

Seth Godin produced a huge list of 952 sites – also showing the traffic that each one receives Seth Godin’s list shows only companies, but not trends. As the first step, we labeled each company with a category such as Video or Social Networking. Content has to be re-fresh every week if not more often; in order to make that an easier job, it is adequate to change some of the content, even if you dont replace it all. With the huge number of applications obtainable with Web 2.0, you should put a Google search box straight on the site, so that any costumer may find it easy to perform any additional search straight from your blog page.

Blogs are great traffic generators that you can use to grow your business! Some ways to generate traffic through blogs comprise pinging, search engine optimization and social bookmarking. A Blog is a web application where you can write down your thought, belief or idea in a matter of minutes unlike the old static website. What becomes the attraction or magnetism of blog is its effortlessness.

Google might then outweigh Site B over Site A based on how credible its crawler deems the area or domain and then drop the unique or original page from Site A from the engine. If the original publication is already on a very credible site there’s probably little threat. Google in particular seems to love blogs. On occasion my articles will be indexed within an hour of being published. Google will look to ensure that you have linked topics.

Twitter is one of the new social networking sites. You can post short tweets for your groups, sharpen their appetite for more, and send them to your latest blog post. Twitter is still reasonably new social networking site, and there are still thousands of marketers who are not using it to its full potential. Some are not using it at all. Twitter feed monitors your blogs RSS feed and then syndicated new entries to your feed straight to your Twitter. From what I can see online, usage of the service is growing quickly – so quickly their server can not seem to keep up.

Websites like Del.icio.us, Digg, and Furl permit users to share their individual favorites (bookmarks) with others. User tag each bookmarked website with the keywords they believe are most appropriate. Websites who fail to influence upon the event of social networking websites threat or risk getting left behind.

Videos can be successful over those guests/visitors who are just a little skeptical as to whether it really works. Video communities like YouTube are a great source of traffic. What the listeners or audience lacks in buying intent, it makes up for in the ability to take your content viral.

Blogs are syndicated like television and radio, so people can discover/ find you from all over the world. I love that my blog markets me while I sleep and then when I write great articles they help to build my credibility. Blogs, forums, and social networking websites all allow you create a profile. Take advantage of this to let readers know more about you and most highly use your profile page to influence people to read more of your content. Blogging is one of the most vital marketing techniques to create or generate free traffic to your website. The keys to success are to post your messages often and add new friends.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – This is free traffic from the search engines if your site has intelligent design and is repeatedly updated content and a proper linking policy on site and off. A good SEO will persistently study their art. Search engine optimization, email campaigns, pay-per-clicks and banner ads. Search engines are making it more and more complicated to get high, ever lasting rankings. SEO seems to be getting truly scientific.

Blogs are vastly well-liked, and very useful. The content is frequently syndicated all over the Internet, ever increasing the probability that your targeted traffic will see it and be drawn to your site

by Steve Blalock

The thing to remember is that your message must be perceived as having value.

The tech factor alone is enough for the message to be perceived as valuable.
