What would you do if you found yourself with an extra hour a day? Would you get a jump on the next day’s work? Would you use it to work on that never-ending honey-do list? Would you use that extra hour to ensure you would have an extra hour every day to make yourself invaluable to your employer, your spouse, or your community?

Even if you are a stay-at-home mom or a CEO, chances are if you are “at least at certain times during the year” required to do extensive reading for your job. Quarterly reports or the latest parenting blogs and books can range from two pages to two hundred, and that can take some time to read especially when you are supposed to be keeping up on what the competitors are doing, or you only have naptime to yourself and want to take full advantage.

With the Complete Speed Reading Program Family Edition, you will be able to read at twice the speed in just the first hour, guaranteed!

But you won’t just learn how to speed read with the Complete Speed Reading Program. We at Speed Read America take a holistic approach to life and our product, we know that you are more than a reader. Included with our guaranteed reading program are also programs designed to help you set goals and achieve them. We also include relaxation and a course on developing your own self power.

Created by Dr. Jay Polmar, a former university instructor and author with over 40 titles to his name, the Speed Read Complete Family Edition has been used by people of all ages from third grade to grandma and grandpa. Speed Read Complete has been translated into five languages and the program has been used in over 25 countries around the world to help people learn to speed read in their native language.

Whether you are in a reading-intense comprehension-required field, such as law, medicine, journalism, or academics, or you’re a student looking to get ahead, or you just want to be able to say “Yes, I did read that book, and here is what I thought of it” The Complete Speed Reading Program is for you.

What would you do with that extra time a day that you never had before? Get more sleep? Spend time with your family? Go out with friends? Finally do all those things you’d always said you wanted to do but never had time “like volunteering at a local charity? What would you do if you could read faster” finally join a book club? Take a continuing education class? Read the encyclopedia?

How about “whatever you would like to do”?

When you’re in the gym, there are a lot of distractions. It seems, these days, my gym time is always battling with other things that can seem more important. When I do finally get in the gym, I’m careful to not waste my time on these 7 items.

1 – Don’t work out too much! Sounds contradictory? It’s not. I know of people who spend 90 minutes on cardio, then another hour on weights and who knows how much time researching the latest supplements. You’re body can only benefit from a certain amount of exercise. Go over that amount and it’s all wasted.

2 – No more long rest periods between exercises. Usually this happens when you see a friend and you spend 10 minutes chatting about fitness. Talking about getting fit isn’t going to help you get fit. Don’t take as many breaks and instead schedule some time over coffee when you’re both of you are away from the gym.

3) Plan, Plan, Plan. If you walk into the gym with no idea of what you’re going to do, I can promise you there will be a lot of time wasted. Figure out what you’re going to do before you even step foot into the gym.

4. Not having a backup plan- There is nothing more frustrating then going to the gym with your plan in hand and someone is already using the machine! Having a backup plan ensures you spend more of your time in the gym exercising and less time feeling frustrated. If someone is using the chest machine, no big deal: Do push-ups instead.

5. Not working hard enough- Intensity is one of the biggest factors to achieving results. If you are training in the 12-15 rep range, it should be a challenge to do 14 or 15 reps. If you can do close to 20 reps then you need to increase your weight. As you improve, never allow yourself to get to the point where you’re doing more than 14 reps of each exercise.

6) Form is vital. Doing too many “cheat” reps will kill your time in the gym. Focus on the right form and you’ll benefit greatly from every rep. Each time you do an exercise wrong, that’s one more wasted rep.

7) Get some help from someone who knows what they’re doing. There aren’t many golfers better than Tiger Woods, but, he still has a coach. A coach isn’t someone who knows more than you, it’s someone who can observe and motivate you from outside of yourself. They can see things you’re doing wrong. They can motivated you when you don’t have it in you. Seek out a professional even if it’s just for a periodic check-up for yourself. It will pay huge dividends.

That’s it. The top 7 things that could be wasting your time in the gym. Maybe all 7 didn’t apply to you directly, but there’s something there you can do to improve the quality of your workouts. Pick one item and focus on that for a week. Then pick another one. Pretty soon you’ll be maximizing your time in the gym.

In case you hadn’t noticed, it’s nearly impossible to set aside the time you need at the gym each day. It seems there are always more “important” things to be doing. When you do get into the gym, avoid these 7 time wasters.

1. Too much time in the gym- Cardio exercise should be a portion of your time in the gym, not the bulk of it. It’s meant…

It’s meant to compliment your resistance training and a proper nutrition plan.

2) Stop stopping for too long! You know if you’re one of these people. You see a friend walk in the gym who you haven’t seen in a while and suddenly your heart rate is too high and you need to rest “for a little bit.” Don’t stop everytime you have a chance. It’s not going to help you reach your goals.

3) Plan, Plan, Plan. If you walk into the gym with no idea of what you’re going to do, I can promise you there will be a lot of time wasted. Figure out what you’re going to do before you even step foot into the gym.

4 – Have two exercises in mind. You’ve most likely got a set routine you want to use to work all the muscles in a group. If, for some reason, someone else is using the machine you need, this can slow you down dramatically. I like to have two exercises using different pieces of equipment in my plan book. Exercise A and if that isn’t available exercise B.

6. Not using your full range of motion- If you are not using your full range of motion when performing your exercises, you can be sure that you are wasting your time. Be sure you are using correct form to be sure you are getting the results you desire.

7. Not seeking the advice of a professional- If all the top athletes have coaches and professional trainers, don’t you think you could use their advice? Having a trainer will help you to get further along in your training then trying to do it by yourself. He or she will help you to use proper form, technique, rep ranges, tempo, rest intervals and exercise combinations to maximize your results and minimize your frustrations

I’m sure you didn’t relate to all seven items. You may only relate to one of them. If that’s the case, fix that one time and gain back some time for other areas in your life. If you could relate to them, focus on a few at a time and lean out your gym time while you lean out your body.

When you work at home and telecommute, you could believe that all of your time management troubles are concluded. Forget it – they have only begun. Working at home bestows a lot of benefits into your life (such as being capable to take care of family, lower petrol bills and doing work in the nude – oh, haven’t you done that yet?) but it also brings in a lot more problems.

Deal With Distractions

Because you are home without a boss over your shoulder, you can be more easily distracted from getting the work done that you need to do, especially if you need to do a task that you feel a certain amount of dread in doing. This cuts into your bottom line. The importance of time management for the telecommuter is that it can help you continue to telecommute and pay your bills.

Create A program

The best thing you can do as a telecommuter is to take large tasks and break them down into smaller tasks. The importance of this time management tip is to make your jobs less stressful to do. When you are less stressed, you usually can be more productive and have an inner sense of work satisfaction.

But I am still a reliable freelance writer who gets her assignments executed on time. How do I oversee that? I set down what needs to be done and then I do it. It’s that hard – and yet that simple. Some people work very much better when they are at the last possible minute to do anything. The force can bring in prominent outcomes in sheer desperation. I oftentimes function this manner.

Most of the time management advice tells you to make a list of the half hours in your day and fill in the blanks with certain tasks. By following this schedule, you can theoretically get more done. The importance of this time management tip rests on how well you were able to handle class schedules in school. Personally, I didn’t too well at that.

But I am a reliable freelance writer who gets her assignments done on time. How do I manage that? I write down what needs to be done and then I do it. It’s that hard ? and yet that simple. Some people work much better when they are at the last possible minute to do anything. The pressure can make them produce spectacular results in sheer desperation. I often work this way.

The importance of time management is not following everyone else’s advice on the subject (including my advice) but following the schedule you set up for yourself. Pencil in eating and sleeping, or you’ll be tempted to skip them in the illusion that they are time wasters.

Without the time to appreciate and enjoy the things…

by Jason Tickbourne

There are some things in life that are far more important than others. You may value your car and your home may be your most valuable investment. Your friends and family are dear to you but the most valuable thing is the time you have on this earth. Without that time to enjoy what is available nothing is of value.

Without the time to appreciate and enjoy the things we have they lose their value. You cannot take monetary wealth with you when your time runs out. It matters not at all whether you are the richest or the poorest man on earth. When time runs out it is game over.

We have all sat and watched a TV program and after maybe an hour thought, ‘Why did I waste my time watching that?’ Doing that once is understandable but many of us do it night after night and week after week. With our time so limited surely we can make better use of our time than to throw it away like that?

Time gives us the ability and the opportunity to enjoy life and build and enjoy relationships. We can spend quality time with our families and get enormous satisfaction from that time. We have to work to feed ourselves and our families and that is a valuable thing to be able to do but how much of our lives should we spend working just to buy a new TV or some useless gadget?

When we are trying to decide what we want in life and where we see oursleves in the future how much time do we spend thinking about time? We compromise constantly and don’t do the things we want to do because we have limited time and do the things we have to do. How much time do you spend working just to buy a new car. You have to decide if that is the best way to use the time you have.

We all need to pay more attention to time. Modern life is full of meaningless distractions that offer short term excitement but lack long term satisfaction yet we are using up our time allowance on them. Time management is not just about business. It applies to our personal lives too.

Those people who do understand that learning time management can really help them make the most of their lives generally lead happy and rewarding lives. They may, or may not, be wealthy but they know the value of time. Other who do not understand run around in circles always struggling to keep up with the constant demands on their time.

Time management is generally thought of as men in white coats watching your every move to see if they can get more productive work out of you. Just imagine if you had someone doing something similar in your personal life only this time you were the one to benefit from the extra time made available for you to spend with your family.
