Repossession hit me hard.

what is repossession? Its when someone comes and takes away all your material possessions bit by bit, slowly killing you outside in. I used to think it was getting possessed by something again! Its not. However just as scary.

I had recently come across some bad luck. With the credit crunch taking its toll on lives around the island, and the loss of my job as a result, I was left at a bit of a loose end. I have recently been released from the big house, thus rendering me almost unemployable.

My cleaning job gave me hope, but when the crunch made them re-shuffle staff, I was let go. Where would I work now? Will I be able to get another job I was asking myself.

I went on the dole. A month went by, still no job. Still no liveable income, 60 every two weeks, is not nearly enough for me to be able to pay my living costs. The only way I could think of to survive was to do little jobs for people, get some cash in my pocket, they were happy, I was happy. bobs your uncle.

Some low life reported me for benefit fraud, this meant more debt and fines to payback. I was in a lot of trouble.

One Monday morning (why are Mondays the gloomiest days?) a letter dropped on my porch floor, they were going to repossess my house! I had neglected to respond to their previous repossession letters and failed to pay monies owed.

I was just about ready to sell my soul to the devil, when a neighbourly neighbor, popped round for a cup of sugar. The Samaritan took me in when I was left homeless, gave me a job in his dry cleaning business, ironing. After many hours spent under his wing, I can now live safely under the knowledge that crime does not pay, and has helped me to realise how to avoid repossession in the future.
