Seems like everywhere I turn, I end up at a web site claiming to have the affiliate program script. They are very eager to tell me all about these top affiliate programs that are going to make me rich over night without having to put in any time. My reaction is always the same: Does anyone buy this stuff? I know I don’t. I’ve been at this for many years and I’ve learned that when people are promoting a list, like the Affiliate Best Program list, it’s usually to serve their own interests. They probably have an incentive to push people to the programs on their list. I’ve learned this by trying many of the suggestions on many Affiliate Best Program lists. Many, many hours later I’ve realized that the list of really good programs is not that hard to come by. So what is the real list of high-quality, top affiliate programs? That’s easy. Amazon Associates, Google Adsense, eBay, Commission Junction
Clickbank Malls: Malls are typically not the best way to promote Clickbank products. It all depends on how you implement CB malls. If you find a CB Mall script and throw it up on a domain and expect sales you will find yourself disappointed. You must have a solid marketing plan in place. I won’t get into all the ways to market a Clickbank Mall affiliate program software, but I will instead tell you that you your mall needs to be a part of a larger marketing effort. Example: Build a full website with articles, blogs, videos, photos, product reviews and possibly a forum and then integrate a mall into the site.
Affiliate system built in. The fact that anyone can simply use their PayPal email address to promote the product that’s being sold via the script means that you as a publisher of the product needn’t worry about setting up an affiliate system or program. The script automatically provides a way for affiliates to tag their PayPal email address and get paid instantly. This means that the product publisher is free of additional chores such as paying affiliates manually etc since the script does it automatically when a sale is made. The script is viral Because virtually anyone can tag their PayPal email address to a product, promote it and get paid instantly any site using the script will naturally see a viral promotion effect manifest itself. Since affiliates get paid instantly, more and more people will start promoting your sites without you having to do any active promoting. The viral effect will bring in more sales and profits.
In many forums on the topic of Affiliate Marketing you will come across posts describing “scripts” made by developers that are available for sale that allow the affiliate marketer to do some rather technical tasks automatically via API. Scripted API interfaces are a wonderful way to stand out and bring in solid income. What scripts allow the affiliate marketer to do is to take advantage of those tools offered by the larger affiliate marketing programs and gain greater visibility on the Internet. This leads to traffic, which leads to income. Coders can make these API scripts themselves. But scripts are not true software. Ten years ago we would have called them middleware, but that term isn’t used much today. Affiliate API scripts are not true software because they take too much time and technical knowledge to handle properly. Additionally, if something goes wrong, you are stuck with no support.
Unclear payment resolution Since the affiliate gets paid up front, the publisher doesn’t really know if the payment went through. Thus is a customer complains that he didn’t receive the ordered product the publisher will be responsible to offer it for free at this point. If the publisher got paid in the first place then he would be in a position to verify payment and then either refund or redeliver. This is the nature of the script. Mistaken product ownership. Since the affiliate gets paid up front the customer perceives the affiliate as the product owner. This leads to occasional misunderstandings and refund requests directed at the affiliate instead of the product publisher. This can lead to frustration for the affiliates, specially if the refund rates are high. It could alto lead to affiliate PayPal account being limited by PayPal if customers make complaints to them.
Many webmasters report huge jumps in site revenue when they’ve moved from AdSense to Clickbank Ads. While this isn’t always true, with Ad sense’s decreasing payouts; Clickbank is generally outperforming AdSense.
