Every seller on eBay will have a feedback rating next to his or her name. You should check this before ever considering placing a bid. Clicking on the feedback number will show you vital information about the seller you are dealing with in each auction or “buy it now” transaction.

A low number generally means that the seller does not have very much eBay experience. eBay members can get one feedback point for every transaction, whether they are buying or selling. A higher number of transactions means that the seller has been around for a while and probably knows what they are doing.

There is a very important number near the feedback score. The percentage of positive transactions is a vital number for your consideration. 98% or higher is my personal limit for doing business with a seller. You can usually expect the best service from people with very high percentages.

Scrolling down the page a bit, you will find comments from buyers related to each sale. Clicking on the “view item” link will also show you what was purchased by that buyer. I always consider these messages carefully when I’m considering making a purchase. Any complaints about service will get me moving along to the next purse or handbag that catches my eye.

I’ve dealt with many people on eBay over the years and I’ve found that most of them are solid people with no bad intent. Feel free to ask questions. Some people ask questions of every seller they deal with just to see what kind of response they will receive. Most sellers are more than willing to answer questions and help in any way they can. Next time you are looking for a designer purse at a good price, give eBay a shot.
