Joy Potential – Make Real Connection

Connection to others has the potential to bring interest, support, and growth into your life. A real connection can also bring joy. How do we make our personal relationships strong and fulfilling? What is the secret to deep and loving connection?

I’m surrounded by people with a diversity of personalities and interests. I like knowing different types of people. I find that I enjoy the differences of cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds, and ages. I believe that other people are here to teach us, as we are here to teach them.

A course I instructed on developing loving attitudes really influenced my life. This course was based on loving others, loving self, and loving Spirit. The course used concepts from an ancient language, the Aramaic. This language has roots in every major religion, and was spoken by the most powerful spiritual leaders of all time, yet it is still alive and spoken in the world today.

I’m a word junkie. The Aramaic language has the most fascinating and complex words I’ve ever studied. The language is rich in implications of psychology and spirituality. Translation is difficult to less complex languages. The Aramaic word, PAGRA, is a principle which I keep alive in my own life. Pagra, in fact, means new life, and it refers to relationships among people.

Pagra is the creation of a third life, or a new energy. A pagra holds what two or more people share. Every two people, or every group, shares some values, some attitudes, some goals in common. A pagra exists between any two or more people in a family, a group, a couple, or a company. A pagra is shared beliefs, ideas, attitudes, and goals. Whatever is shared goes into the pagra.

Pagra is living energy. Sometimes our pagra with someone is stronger and more powerful, because we share more with the person, or with the group. At other times, our pagra can shrink when we are not sharing as much common ground.

When we give our attention, our energy, and our focus to something, it grows in strength. When we concentrate on what we shareour pagrainstead of outward appearances, or occurrences, we strengthen our connection with the other person, or the group. Pagra is real and lasting connection.

Find ways to strengthen the pagras you have with those you love and appreciate. Find ways to increase shared values, ideas, and beliefs. Your joy will increase, and your life will be richer.
